Fingers crossed you'll get in the correct lane. In my opinion this is possibly the most confusing sign on the motorway network.

Gantry replacement on M40 - Coppermine - 21406.jpg
Gantry replacement on M40

There's a right mess here. Just one panel from the old gantry remains but the signs on the new gantry are obscured by the old one. Also, both revolving panels on the new gantry are displaying M6.

Queue on M42 approaching J3a - Coppermine - 13534.jpg
Queue on M42 approaching J3a

Typical Friday afternoon madness as traffic using the M42 holds up those wanting to use the M40. Some of those in lane 3 will cut in right at the end which causes queuing like this.

New gantry has speed cameras covering each lane which works as part of the variable speed limit system. Also notice the revolving sections on the new signs are both blank which suggests it's not in use yet.
