|Gavinburn, Old Kilpatrick|
|Junctions related to the A814|
The Gavinburn Switch is a strange junction where the A814 connects with the westbound carriageway of the A82 at Old Kilpatrick. There is no access or exit for the east, or city bound carriageway, although it is likely that there was originally a central reservation gap to provide these movements. The two routes are connected by a short piece of road running at right angles to both, and no more than half a dozen cars in length between the give way lines. The junction with the A82 is therefore a LiLo junction, with short deceleration and acceleration lanes.
