Grand Junction, which is also named Aquarium Junction is the junction at the south most point of the A23, where it meets the A259 outside the Palace Pier. The junction has taken form of many different layouts according to historical maps and was ranked the 18th most dangerous roundabout in the UK in 2018.
It is currently in the phase of being redesigned, along with the rest of "Valley Gardens" (the southern area of the A23. In 2021 it is due to be converted into a traffic light controlled crossroads with the A23 being a D2 road to the north and the A259 being a S4 roads east and west with Marine Parade becoming a one-way road exiting the junction. The new junction will also incorporate dedicated cycle tracks and cycle crossings parallel with pedestrian ones.
