Harbour Road Roundabout is at the junction of the A82 and Harbour Road, Inverness. It can be a nasty bottleneck in the middle of industrial estates, with lots of lorries turning to access their depots after coming from the A9 at the Longman Roundabout. Some of this congestion was moved recently when a set of signals were installed a little to the north, and the central reservation opened to allow traffic to turn right out of Henderson Road - some of this traffic had previously joined the A82 south at the Harbour Road roundabout. However, with no right turn into Henderson Road, access is via a U turn at the roundabout.
The roundabout is a straight four armed junction between the A82 and Harbour Road. The A82 is dualled in either direction, but has lots of left turns to access the properties along the road, perhaps exacerbating the need for traffic to U turn at the roundabout. The western arm of Harbour Road leads to the River Ness and the harbour, while the eastern arm runs through the industrial estate to the Millburn Roundabout on the B865. The Western arm appears to have been numbered the B9146 for a time in the past, lasting until around the time that the Kessock Bridge was opened. The advance warning sign on the eastern arm of Harbour Road shows the number B9164 however, which is thought to be an error on an old sign.
