High Beech Roundabout is the junction of the A48 and A466 situated three quarters of a mile south-west of Chepstow town centre. This is the official name of the junction as it appears in legislation; however, local signage uses the spelling "Highbeech".

The A48 (the Gloucester to Carmarthen road via Cardiff and Swansea) is classified as primary north-east of the roundabout.

The A466 runs from King's Thorn on the A49 about five miles south of Hereford to junction 2 of the M48. The section between Highbeech and the motorway is known as the Wye Valley Link and is a primary route.

The roundabout was unique as it was subject to a 40 mph speed limit while all of its exit roads (other than the Wye Valley Link, which was NSL) are limited to 30 mph. However with the recent implementation of a Red Route and 50 limit on the Wye Valley Link, the roundabout itself appears to have been logically reduced to 30 mph.
