Holm Roundabout lies to the south of Inverness and is where the B8082 ring road currently terminates on the B862 Dores Road. However, the Inverness West Link (A8082) provides a connection across the River Ness to the A82. New signs have been erected on the approaches but the name of the roundabout is signed as "Dores Roundabout". This seems to be a slight error as the signs on the existing approache say "Holm Roundabout" and the fact that Dores is 6 miles to the south!
The roundabout is a five arm junction, with the B862 passing through north south on it scenic route (via the B852) along the southern shore of Loch Ness. The B8082 approaches from the east, with the West Link heading west, and the access to the Tesco Store in the northwest corner. The store was originally built with the promise of the new road, but delays and disagreements saw the funding agreement from Tesco come under doubt before construction began.
