King Street Roundabout

King Street Roundabout is the junction between the A79 and A719 to the north of Ayr town centre. Both routes are dualled in either direction as they pass through the junction, giving all four arms two approach and departure lanes. Old maps suggest that the construction of the junction required a substantial amount of demolition at what was a former urban crossroads. Indeed, none of the buildings standing in the vicinity of the junction appear to be any older than the 1960s, and some are newer.
