Laich Moray Roundabout

The Laich Moray Roundabout lies outside the hotel of the same name on the A941 to the south of Elgin town centre. It is where the A941 resumes its original route, having been diverted to the west of the High Street shopping area to allow for partial pedestrianisation. The A941 therefore forms the west and south arms of the junction, with the former A941 route along Moss Street heading north. Curiously, Maisondieu Road to the east is signed as an alternative route for traffic bound for Lossiemouth, continuing across the A96 onto Pansport Road and so through Kingsmills to reach the A941 at the northern edge of Elgin.
The roundabout is a busy one, with the A941 crossing the railway line immediately to the south of the roundabout. There are surprisingly few routes across the railway within Elgin, and this bridge is the busiest as it connects the town centre with the Edgar Road Retail Park, and large swathes of the southern residential area. To the south of the bridge, the Edgar Road Roundabout is the main access point to the retail park, and traffic can become queued in both directions over the bridge.
