Lhanbryde East Junction lies at the east end of the Lhanbryde Bypass, which was opened in the 1990's. The A96 now curves round to the south of the village and at the eastern end it lies hard up against the railway line. The roundabout is therefore fitted in on the old line of the A96, with the new road squeezed between the railway and houses. It is a tight 3 arm junction, with the now unclassified road through the village hardly turning to meet the roundabout at what is effectively a fork.
