Most of the British Isles are now served by motorways, or at least dual carriageways. However, some of the more remote areas still rely solely on single carriageway roads as follows:

No Dual Carriageway

England

All Counties now have some Dual Carriageway

Scotland

Wales

Northern Ireland

Republic of Ireland

Crown Dependencies, Overseas Territories, etc

(Listing only permanently inhabited, non military places)

No Motorway

England

Scotland

Wales

Northern Ireland

Republic of Ireland

Crown Dependencies, Overseas Territories, etc

None of the Channel Isles, Isle of Man or other overseas territories have Motorways to our knowledge.

This page is not guaranteed accurate, we may have missed some dual carriageways hidden away somewhere!
