Clympwick Bridge is the bridge on the A259 across the River Arun near Littlehampton. It is the final road bridge on this river before reaching the sea. Its the first bridge in its location, with the A259 originally crossing further south using a ferry until the early 20th century, at which point it gained a swing bridge, which has been replaced and is still in use today as a foot & cycle bridge as part of the NCN2.
Around 2020/21 WSCC put forward a consultation on various changes along the A259 between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, one of them was to include a foot/cycleway across the bridge. Due to the Bridge's due refurbishment a few options were put forward such as putting the cycleway on the current bridge, attaching a new foot/cycleway to the side or completely replace the bridge with a new wider one, its like the first choice will be chosen.
