Llanbadarn Fawr is an urbanized village and community in Ceredigion, and is located on the outskirts of Aberystwyth, on the north side of the Vale of Rheidol, facing Penparcau and Southgate. It forms the eastern part of the continuously built-up area of Aberystwyth.

The A44 has come from Oxford whereas the A4120 is a short link road to the A487 on the south side of Aberystwyth.
