Lune West Bridge links The Bay Gateway (Heysham to M6 Link Road) to M6 J34 Lune Valley Interchange. The Bay Gateway was opened on 31 October 2016.
The four span bridge over the River Lune is 40m west of the M6 Lune Bridge which had opened in 1960 along with the Lancaster Bypass.
Construction
The steel structure was designed by consulting engineer Jacobs and fabricated by steelwork supplier Cleveland Bridge. Contractor was Costain.
