Route
The M181 is a spur from the M180, and is an important link to the industrial estates around Scunthorpe. Upon opening, it had no intermediate junctions and was pretty much straight for its entire length and is entirely D2M in formation.
In Summer 2020, a new roundabout was constructed on the main line, truncating the motorway. The section to the north of that was renumbered A1077(M) in 2021.
Main Article: Brumby Common Lane Junction
Another new roundabout is planned to be constructed even further south, truncating the motorway for a second time.
Main Article: Burringham Road Junction
