M42 J5A, is a proposed new junction on the M42, designed to operate in conjunction with the existing M42 J6, providing access to Birmingham International Airport via the Clock Interchange and facilitating other development in the area. A new link road, to be known as the A4545 will be constructed.

- The M42 Junction 6 Development Consent Order 2020 - This Order authorises Highways England to undertake works to Junction 6 of the M42 and to carry out all associated works and to construct a new 2.4 kilometre dual carriageway connecting a new Junction 5A of the M42 with the existing Clock Interchange.
