Guide Interchange is junction 5 of the M65. It opened in 1997 and forms a busy commuter junction on the M65 as the majority of Blackburn's commercial and industrial parks are within easy reach of this location.
The impact of the motorway was so great that the then B6232 was renumbered as the A6177. This proved to be a distinctly unwise idea as the unsuitable Grane Road section became very busy and was renumbered back to B6232 in 2005. The stub A6177 was renumbered as A6077.
The junction was signalised in January 2011 due to the volumes of traffic using it and further improved in 2015.
