The M898 is a motorway in Renfrewshire, Scotland linking the M8 with the Erskine Bridge. It opened on 27 December 1970 (per The Gazette) in advance of the bridge opening on 2 July 1971. It is a mere one mile long and has no hard shoulders.
It could be argued that the A898 onto which the road terminates is of a higher standard since it has regular SOS phones unlike the M898.

Erskine Bridge
Main Article: Erskine Bridge
Whilst technically part of the A898, the Erskine Bridge is immediately to the north of the M898 and the vast majority of the motorway's traffic uses the bridge. It is the lowest road crossing of the River Clyde travelling between Renfrewshire and Dunbartonshire, and the only one to the west of the city of Glasgow.
