Dungarvan

Fermoy is a market town in east County Cork. It stands on the banks of River Blackwater, some 30 km north-north-east of Cork city and 190 km south-west of Dublin. The M8 motorway from Cork to the Dublin-bound M7 near Port Laoise bypasses the town to the east, crossing the Blackwater by a new bridge opened in late 2006. Earlier, the N8 had run through the centre of the town, where its intersection of the N72 Dungarvan to Killorglin road was a notorious bottleneck on both routes.
