Major's Hollow is one of three roundabouts that forms the Ballymascanlan Interchange.
The roundabout is named as it is at the location of a dip in the old Newry to Dundalk road called Major's Hollow, where several accidents occurred (Irish Independent article from 1971: http://www.independent.ie/regionals/argus/news/death-toll-at-majors-hollow-rises-as-three-move-lives-lost-26959026.html )
