Maple Cross is a crossroads in Bishop's Stortford. The Cross is one of four crosses (along with Collins Cross, Crabb's Cross, and Wayte Cross, in the town destroyed either at the Reformation or during the Commonwealth . (source: British History / Parishes). The origin of the name of this cross is unknown.
