Mill Lade Roundabout is a new roundabout to the south of the new bridge over the River Ness on the Inverness West Link. This will connect the B8082 in the south east of the city with the A82 in the south west, a missing link which should relieve a lot of traffic problems elsewhere in the city.
The main function of this roundabout will be to turn the new road a right angle from the bridge onto the riverbank, and also provide access to the industrial site that already stands here. The name of the junction is taken from the old Mill Lade which fed Holm Mills immediately downstream on the river, water taken from above the weir. The junction will be a 4 arm roundabout, designed to allow for future development in the surrounding fields.
