The junction at Milton of Tullich is the eastern end of the Pass of Ballater. The Pass, numbered as the B972, is a sort of bypass of the town of Ballater, but most traffic stays on the A93 as there is little difference timewise, and with so much tourist traffic in the area, the town is of more interest! The junction is a fork where priority is given to traffic turning between the B972 and the eastern arm of the A93. However, a very short slip lane is provided for traffic using the western arm of the A93, although this is little more than a cars length due to the acute angle of the fork.
