Newhouse, or Chepstow Interchange, is junction 2 of the M48, formerly junction 22 of the M4. The roundabout is called Thornwell which is named after the suburb of Chepstow near the motorway. It is most easterly motorway junction in Wales.
In 2020 the speed limit on the roundabout was reduced to 40 mph as part of the new Red Route on the A466 which was reduced to 50 at the same time. Strangely this speed limit only applies on the roundabout and none of its exits. The road to the Industrial Estate is 30, the A466 is 50 whereas it's NSL on the M48 entry slips and Conway Drive. Conway Drive also has the distinction of having one of the shortest NSL limits in the UK at less than 200 yards.
