The Newport Transporter Bridge spans the River Usk in the south of the city of Newport. It was opened on 12 September 1906 and is the largest transporter bridge still in existence in the world. It used to be crossed by the B4237 however this was rerouted through the centre of the city on the opening of the Newport Southern Distributor Road, leaving the Transporter Bridge unclassified.
