Newtimber Junction was a small junction on the A23 between Muddleswood Crossroads and Dale Hill Junction that allowed Church Road to connect onto the A23. The A23 was dualed here in 1940s and Church Road has full access at-grade. In the early 1990s the A23 was streighted and made into a dual carriageway for a longer length, this lead to the junction being disconnected and nowadays Church Road is a narrow lane that leads to some cottages and a church from the A281 at the other end of the road. However the old piece of road connecting the two is still there, for use as the bridge over the brook beside the A23 and is now a public footpath.
