Berkeley Avenue Bridge is a steel bridge that crosses the River Kennet on the A4.
History
This was one of the three bridges constructed for the new road from Berkeley Avenue to Pell Street to create an east-west bypass of the town using London Road. The road was recorded as having been used in June 1909 per the Borough Engineers Report for 1909, although the surface was still to be made up at the year end. It had been reported as nearing completion by the Reading Standard of 10 April 1909. Contractor was H. Lovatt Ltd..
It was numbered B3032 in 1922-23. Later renumbered A4.
