Peninver Bridge carries the B842 across the Glenlussa Water towards the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula. As with most of the bridges on Kintyre's east shore, the bridge is a single stone arch probably dating from the early 19th Century. There is little adornment to the structure, which is built from rubble, with the parapets continuing some distance beyond the span as wing walls. Upstream of the bridge, the riverbanks have been walled to control the flow. Despite the road to either side of the bridge being two-way, the bridge remains single track, and with tight bends on either bank it is perhaps surprising that it has never been replaced.
