Penwortham New Bridge was the major bridge over the River Ribble from the South West into Preston. It was effectively replaced in the 1980s by an additional bridge built to carry the A59.
Further south there is a much older crossing of the Ribble called Penwortham Bridge. It is now sometimes called Penwortham Old Bridge.
