THE Ironbridge - Coppermine - 5140.jpg
THE Ironbridge

No prizes for guessing where this bridge is. I've spent quite a few hours over the years photographing it. Every road enthusiast should visit Ironbridge and take in this amazing piece of engineering

Signpost in Newick, West Sussex

This photo was taken on the Sussex Road Trip in December 2005, and shows a beautiful finger post from the village of Newick on the A272. probably the only sign which shows both Winchester and Canterbury on the same post.

Owen Williams bridge about to bite the dust - Coppermine - 5107.jpg
Owen Williams bridge about to bite the dust - Picture taken just as the main roadworks are to start at J9. The lack of vegetation and the pale concrete makes the scene similar to that in pictures from brochures when the M1 first opened. The bridge, like many on this part of the M1, is covered in pro hunting slogans. Something else that may have to go is the VMS sign since it is standing where the new hard shoulder will be.
A442 Queensway, Telford - the 'Geological' wall - Coppermine - 5124.jpg
A442 Queensway, Telford - the 'Geological' wall

This would need cropping and resizing to fit in the banner, but I've left it relatively unmolested for viewing purposes. If you're not familiar with Telford, it's on the E side of the minor road crossing the A442 near the centre of the map (just above the '116' height spot on Multimap )
