Podimore Roundabout is one of the major junctions on the A303. It is a roundabout interchange, flared for future improvements. It links the A303, the A37 and A372. An unclassified road also joins, linking the roundabout to the village of Podimore itself.
History
The Ilchester area in 1960
Before the Ilchester Bypass was built, the A37 (following the route of the Fosse Way) and A372 used to meet at a crossroads just to the north of the present roundabout, with the A303 taking the route of the current B3151 spur into Ilchester to the south. The construction of the bypass saw all three A-roads realigned to meet at the new roundabout.
