Polmillan Bridge

Polmillan Bridge carries the B786 across the Mill Burn, a tributary of the River Gryfe, a little to the west of Quarriers Village. It is the very simplest form of stone arch bridge, with nor ornamentation on the outer faces or the parapets. Indeed, the upstream parapet has been lost at some point in the past and rather rudely replaced with a stretch of armco barrier. The bridge is built of rubble stone, and while clearly old, it is not easy to put a date to it.
