The R449 is a short link road in County Kildare running from the R148 at Collinstown via junction 6 of the M4 to the R405 at Crodaun Business Park near Celbridge. The R449 was newly built to connect the M4 junction 6 which opened in 2003. The section towards the R148 (old N4) is D2 and includes a bridge over the Dublin-Sligo railway and the Royal Canal, this section serves the large Intel plant.
