Righead Roundabout is a four-arm roundabout on the A726 in East Kilbride town centre. It lies at the south western corner of the main town centre complex, a vast building which houses the main shopping centre, cinema, ice rink, car parks and a hotel amongst many other businesses. Three of the four arms of the roundabout are dualled with two approach and departure lanes, while the southerly arm, Murrayhill, is a single carriageway. The roundabout has four subways beneath it connecting to a central pedestrian 'roundabout'.
The roundabout was built in the early stages of the development of East Kilbride new town, and is shown on the OS One Inch Sheet of 1957. However, larger scale mapping shows that as first built only the eastbound carriageway of the A726 was used, and that Princes Street to the north (now Cornwall Street) was originally built as a single carriageway. Both routes were dualled within a decade as the town grew.
