Rossmore Roundabout is a junction in Poole. It was originally a T Junction on the then A348, now B3068. By the early 1970s it had become a roundabout with a large island. The central island is now a lot smaller although the overall junction size remains the same.
In 1971 proposals were made to extend the A3049 Dorset Way northwards towards Canford Heath. A link was planned between the B3068 and A3049 replacing Old Wareham Road which would be severed at its western end. A roundabout would have been built to the south of the current Rossmore Roundabout to serve this link.
The Dorset Way extension was built in the 1980s to a lower specification and the new link to the B3068 was never built. Old Wareham Road remains a busy through route.
