Rothersthorpe Interchange is Junction 15A of the M1.
It was built as part of the A43 Blisworth and Milton Malsor bypass and opened on 21 May 1991. The layout of the junction is complicated by its interaction with the adjacent service area, which already existed. At first the A43 passed under the M1 solely via a former railway bridge, and was therefore locally reduced to S2. Later a tunnel was built under the M1 by thrust boring to enable the A43 dualling to be extended through the junction.
