Junctions related to the B865

Shore Street Roundabout is at the junction of the A82 and the B865 in Inverness. The dualled A82 has just come off of Friars Bridge across the River Ness to the south west, and turns to the east on its way through Inverness to meet the A9. The B865 starts at this roundabout and also heads east, through the city centre, to the A9 at Raigmore Interchange. Some older signage suggests that Chapel Street, the B865 is still the B9161. However, this route was removed from Inverness when the Kessock Bridge opened, having previously crossed the Kessock Ferry to enter the city centre.

On the north side of the roundabout, two unclassified roads lead off to either side of the river, with Grant Street crossing the river on Waterloo Bridge and so following the old route of the B9161 to the former Kessock Ferry slipway. Shore Street itself heads north, through the city's industrial area, to pass under the Kessock Bridge.
