Spitfire Roundabout is a roundabout on the A31 near Winchester. It was constructed at the same time as the M3 Winchester bypass and was named after the nearby Spitfire Bridge, which was demolished as part of the works.
It was built on the site of the Petersfield Road junction where the Winchester Bypass met the A272, which can still be made out by looking at the road layout in the area. This in turn replaced a crossroads.
Following the construction of the Chandler's Ford Bypass, the A31 was diverted onto a new route away from Winchester City Centre, using the new junction at Compton. This meant the A272 became A31.
