St Martin's Circus originally was a large roundabout on the A4400 outside of Birmingham New Street Station. It had been built around the old Market Hall, utilising Bell Street.
The gyratory was removed in 2000 as part of the works to replace the aging and unloved Bull Ring Centre. The line of the road still exists as a covered bus underpass through to Moor Street and the remains of Masshouse Circus. The bus underpass is still known as St Martin's Queensway despite being out of bounds to through traffic.
The Smallbrook Queensway to the west has been extensively rebuilt as part of the works to remove this junction.
