|Junctions related to the B3151|
For many years, Street only had one roundabout which probably helps to explain the rather unimaginative name! The roundabout is the towns gateway from the north, where the A39/A361 multiplex arrives from Glastonbury just a mile or so to the north. The A39 is dualled either side of the roundabout, with the western arm being Street's 'bypass'. The roundabout has a very spacious feeling, with wide grassy central reservations and a large island almost as if it is flared to take a flyover - there's not quite enough room though!
It is believed that this section was built as part of a much grander plan which would have seen a southern bypass for Glastonbury and a northern bypass for Walton to the west. The former route of the A39 through Street is now initially the B3151 heading south from the roundabout.
