Swooning Bridge crosses the River on the B641 in Oakham. It is believed to be called this as it was the point at which a convict on his way to his hanging from the Oakham Gaol would first be able to see the gibbet.
It presently carries the B641, which was the A6003 before the bypass was constructed.
