The Talbot Memorial Bridge is a bridge across the River Liffey in Dublin. It opened in 1978 and became the most eastern crossing of the River Liffey.
Unlike other crossings of the Liffey, the Talbot Memorial Bridge's purpose is entirely practical and not decorative. It forms a key part of the one-way system around Custom House, relieving Butt Bridge. It carries traffic from the Docklands and Dublin Port to City Quay and George's Quay, as well as Moss Street - which was originally envisaged running in the opposite direction.
It is named after Dubliner Matt Talbot, of the Temperance Movement. In planning it was referred to as Memorial Road Bridge. A local inquiry was held in 1972. The new bridge was expected to be largely relieved by the Liffey Crossing planned to open to the east before 1991, but the Memorial Road Bridge could be built sooner.
