Are Ax(M) going to be distinct entries from the relevant A road? How should the maps work? For the A1, the map includes motorway stretches at present. --Tom 17:08, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

They are both part of the A road, and motorways in their own right. It's a tricky no mans land - do we merge it into the A roads own pages, or do we have them as completely separate roads, or do we have the motorway sections getting their own page, and the A road article also dealing with the motorway sections.

On another topic, is the big long junction list better than doing separate ones for the Herts, Hunts and Yorks/Durham sections? --Si 17:22, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

How is the A1(M) one motorway in several bits? It's several bits of A1 that happen to be motorways. M5lenzar 17:24, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

You are quite correct Lenzar - it's several bits of the A1 that are motorways and several motorways that are all one number. Then again, thanks to the 80s/90s plans, it's one motorway that has lots of gaps in it where it hasn't been finished. I'll go and reword that bit. --Si 17:34, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Is that better? I've also removed the stuff about only GB motorway in sections with gaps, M62, M8 and M80 all testify against such a statement. --Si 17:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I think there is something wrong with the mileage figure. I highly doubt the mileage of all the built sections adds up to a mere 25.5 miles. M5lenzar 17:02, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
