Formerly (presumably before the building of the Dornoch Firth Bridge) the A836 did not run to Tarlogie but followed the route of today's B9176 from Easter Fearn to the present site of Skiach services on the A9 near Evanton. -- Viator 18:11, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
