Tin Bridge Roundabout

|Location Map ( geo)|
Tin Bridge Roundabout lies at the northern end of the Glastonbury Bypass on the A39. The rather unusual name comes from the name of the bridge on the former Somerset & Dorset Railway that used to stand near here. Indeed, the bypass is largely constructed on the former railway line, which continued due east from the roundabout, which was originally where the A39 and railway crossed, on its way to Evercreech Junction.
Today the roundabout helps deal with the sharp bend that the A39 would otherwise have to take as it diverts from its historic course through the town. That route is now unclassified.
