The Turnford Interchange was constructed at the same time as the A10. From the junction, a dual carriageway spur takes traffic to the A1170 at the New River Arms Roundabout. The roundabout itself does not allow for a movement south onto the A10, while the other three movements are accounted for. This is because London-bound traffic from the A1170 accesses via the course of the old A10 from the New River Arms instead.
