Longest lane Map

I can't see the trace on the Longest Lane map - I don't know if it's just me, but I can see other traces? It looks like you've tagged it correctly, but the trace just doesn't show (it should show instantly). I think it's case sensitive. C2r (talk) 13:08, 7 August 2017 (BST)

It's showing OK for me, in green, rather than black which is normally used for user created traces - is this a new development?? Rileyrob (talk) 13:30, 7 August 2017 (BST)
I'm not sure why it's not showing up for you to be honest - perhaps it's your browser cache? It works for me even if I log out :/
I've created it in green for now, but I'll edit it when I get a chance so it has the correct primary/motorway/trunk colour for each section :) Fahad (talk) 14:28, 7 August 2017 (BST)
I just tried in IE without being logged in (I normally use Firefox) and I can't see it on that either - I've never had an issue with user traces before! How do you edit the trace to have the appropriate colours? Is this some sort of developer specialness, as when I (for example) traced the Wild Atlantic Way I could only see it in black? I should know more (I would have thought) being a wiki-admin, but don't! C2r (talk) 23:42, 7 August 2017 (BST)
Thanks for that clue! It turned out to be a bug in the trace file that Chrome just ignores - I've fixed it and it now shows up in Firefox (I haven't got access to IE to test this). The colouring is indeed developer magic, but when I've more time (hopefully soon :)) I'll look at making a tool for colouring traces, and for importing traces from gpx tracks Fahad (talk) 00:38, 8 August 2017 (BST)
Great, it works now in both Firefox and IE. Good debugging! Importing traces would have been magic for Wild Atlantic Way - it took forever to do manually! C2r (talk) 07:17, 8 August 2017 (BST)
That looks like it must have been an absolute dog! Things like this are far easier in sites like gpsies.com - it's probably worth figuring out whether it's worth integrating an interface to something similar as an easy alternative to improving the sabre tracing tools till they match Fahad (talk) 16:11, 8 August 2017 (BST)
