Waterloo Bridge is one of three of bridges that allows the road through Christchurch to cross the eastern channel of the River Avon. The western channel is crossed by the Town Bridge and Redford Bridges. Through traffic now uses the replacement Purewell Bridge with the construction of the A35 Christchurch bypass.
