White Bridge is a common name for bridges in the north of Scotland, and is doubtless used elsewhere. In Gaelic it is Drochaid Bhan, as some of these bridges are also known. The name is believed to come from the use of pale (white) stone for the crossing, although some of the structures have since been replaced and yet retained the old name.
