|Junctions related to the B676|
Widmerpool Intersection is the junction of the A46 'Fosse Way' and the A606. Widmerpool was a hamlet to the west of the junction, with a station and hall etc. The station is on what is now the Old Dalby test track, and the hall is a Training Centre.
The junction has been a grade-separated roundabout since approximately the early or middle 1960s when the A46 to the south was dualled. Construction of the grade-separated junction involved southward diversion of the A606 and slight eastward diversion of the A46.
The A46 northward to Newark is currently being dualled for completion in 2012. As a late modification to this scheme, the roundabout is being extended SEward to accept a fifth arm. This will leave the roundabout in a NE direction, curve NW, incorporate a section of bypassed former A46 and provide access to Kinoulton.
