Wimborne is an ancient town, famous for its impressive Minster Church. The A31 now bypasses the town, leaving a maze of B roads in the town centre.

History
Before the A31 Wimborne Bypass was built, the road used to pass straight through the middle of this ancient town. The A341 also continued into the town, the two meeting just to the east of the town centre. Their routes (with a few minor deviations) now form part of the confused B3073 and the B3078.
